Secondary In Studio Immersion is for students who will be entering 3rd-5th grade in the fall of 2020. "Camps" are weekly and meet Tuesday-Friday from 9am-11am. Students may register for as few or as many weeks of camp as they desire. Please scroll down and thoroughly read through our new policies. A lot has changed in the past few months and we have implemented these guidelines for everyone's safety. Scroll all the way down to view our camp week topics and register.
Student Safety is our number one priority at Studio E
Due to the ever-changing stringent government requirements of operating our school during a pandemic, we have put the following new safety measures in order.
What are the guidelines that we will follow...how would a day at "camp look" like for your child?
We will create a fun and loving environment where our students feel safe, cared for and can have their personality shine.
Students and their care givers must wear a mask when waiting to enter the building and as they enter the lobby. They may wear the mask down around their neck once situated and seated. Teachers will only wear a mask if they need to speak closely to a student, otherwise their masks will be around their necks.
New entry/ pickup procedures:
One student group will be permitted to enter our building at a time. We will have a student drop off time frame 10 minutes prior to the start of camp so that this does not infringe on learning time. Student families will line up on the ramp at the door and each group will stand on an "X" which will be 6' apart. Parents will drop off at the door and students will immediately be given hand sanitizer or have the choice of washing up in the bathroom and then will be guided to their classroom. Caregivers will not be permitted to enter the building and we ask that you e-mail us with all questions, comments/ feedback at email@example.com. All payments must be squared away ahead of time online so that there is never crowding in our office. At pick up time, families will again stand in line on an "X" on the ramp and ring the doorbell when they arrive. The secretary will get your student/their belongings and bring them to the door. If a caregiver needs to pick up early, please call the studio ahead of time so we know you are coming and we will get your student ready for dismissal.
Food in our studio:
There will be no food allowed in our studio for any reason. This is for the safety of all. Students will be permitted to bring a water bottle with their name on it.
Before entering the school, parents will verbally state the student's temperature that was taken at home that morning. Anyone with a fever will be not be permitted in the school. The CDC states 100.4 or more is a fever. However anyone with a higher temperature of 99.9 will not be permitted in the school. We urge you to keep your student home if they are showing any signs of sickness (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, belly ache etc.) Please e-mail or call us ahead of time to state that they will not be in. We will do our best to give your student a make up day, but will not give credit to partial day. We also cannot give refunds for days misses due to illness.
New Class Capacities/ Teacher Ratios
Our new Rocky Point studio has two classrooms (one for clay, and one for painting). Each room is approximately 1,000 square feet. For the safety of all, we will be operating at less than half capacity. We will have a maximum of eight students enrolled for each classroom at a time with one teacher. We will not have extra support staff with the exception of our secretary. Each student will have their own table to themselves, which they will remain at for the duration of class. Students may not switch tables or chairs and we will encourage everyone to remain seated with the exception of using the bathrooms. Bathrooms are located in our lobby, and the receptionist will escort students to the bathroom and back to their classroom afterwards (and encourage thorough hand washing.)
No unnecessary visitors will be permitted in the camp during camp/ class hours. Doors will remain locked. If you need to drop something off/pick up early, please call ahead so that we know to expect you, and bring the doorbell once you arrive. All communication will be done over the phone or by email. Virtual tours will be scheduled weekly. If you would like to set up a virtual tour, please email Michelle at firstname.lastname@example.org
All supplies are included in the camp tuition. You need not bring anything to the studio except your student and their water.
What do we use to clean? We use approved CDC products such as clorox wipes and lysol. We also sweep and mop our studio daily and change all butcher block paper after each class to ensure cleanliness. Group supplies such as pencils, scissors, paint brushes, oil pastels etc will be cleaned with lysol after each and every use. Students will have a personal pack of supplies at their table that they will be the only ones using each day.
How often do we clean? Every time a surface is used it will be wiped down. How will we be able to keep up with the cleaning? We will have one staff member who will be responsible for keeping the bathrooms cleaned every time they are used and helping the teachers keep their classroom clean so lead teachers can focus on our students. We adhere to hygiene and sanitation requirements from the CDC and DOH and we will maintain cleaning logs on site that document date, time and scope of cleaning.
The Studio E Staff has the right to not allow any adult or child to enter into the camp if they suspect they may be sick. A child may be sent home without a fever if a staff member has a suspicion that a child is showing any symptoms of a cold / virus. Please understand that we are taking extra steps to keep everyone safe and we appreciate your understanding.
Parents / legal guardian(s) must sign a waiver that they understand the risk of sending their child to camp and will not hold the Studio E LLC or any staff member(s) responsible if in the event if their child or family member becomes sick in any way. This waiver can be found in the navigation bar at the top of the website. Please print it, sign/date/ scan and email it back to us at email@example.com. We MUST receive the signed waiver prior to your student entering our building. This needs to be one once per year and we will alert you when it's due again.
Who should come to camp? If you feel you, your child or anyone in your house hold is not healthy they should not attend camp and should stay home. 1:1's may be welcome to sit with your student but this must be discussed with us prior by emailing Michelle at Sstylianou50@yahoo.com.
Communication: We love hearing from our parents.. We ask parents to call or email us if you have any questions. We ask that communication at the door to be limited for the safety for each other and to allow the staff to get the children into camp and their day started in a timely matter. We appreciate your support.
All camps are $175 per week per student. Due to the financial strains of running our business at half student capacity, some of our tuition rates have had to change. We are also not able to offer sibling/ multiple camp discounts this year, but we do hope to again in the near future once half capacity limits are lifted. We are still working hard to keep our camps and classes as affordable as possible.
Scroll down for camp topics and to register. After registering, please send an e-mail to Michelle at firstname.lastname@example.org with the students name and age, parents name and cell and names and cells of anyone permitted to pick up. If their name is not on the list they cannot pick up. Please also be sure to e-mail Michelle a signed and dated waiver prior to th start of class. This can be found on the navigation bar up top. E-mail Michelle with any questions.
