Adult Watercolor Series

Taught by Lauren Belcastro

Learn at your own pace. Lauren will design weekly group projects, demonstrating and elaborating on new watercolor techniques each week. Focuses will include nature, still lifes, copying photographs and more! Students will have the freedom to go in their own directions in this class, as they become more comfortable with the techniques. Classes will include time for discussion and critique at the end of each class, as this helps each artist grow artistically and fosters community with the group.

*Students will need to purchase their own watercolor pads, artist tape, set of watercolors and brushes. You will receive a complete materials list when you register for the session.

class registration and policies

HOW TO REGISTERTo register for classes, scroll down to the bottom of the page and add classes to your cart. After you check out, you will receive an e-mail from us within 24 hours. Please be patient, as this is not an automatic e-mail (we do this manually.)  This email will request additional information such as the students name, age, contact info etc. You will receive a text reminder several days before the start of your session. Once the class is full, it will state this on the website. If the class you desire is full, please call and leave your name and phone number to be put on a waiting list at 631-744-4001.

Please closely review our class policies prior to registering for classes. By registering, you automatically agree to adhere to said policies.

Class Policies:

  • Please arrive on time. (Students who arrive more than 10 minutes early will be asked to wait before entering the pottery room). As such, students are expected to begin their clean up when the instructor announces clean up time. Students are expected to exit the studio at the stated end time  of class, or within five minutes of.
  • Absences must be reported at least four hours in advance to receive a make up credit for classes. You may report an absence by calling the studio at 631-744-4001.
  • Make up classes must be scheduled and completed within the seven week session time span and cannot be carried over to the next session.
  • Studio E is not responsible for providing make-up classes or issuing refunds to students who do not follow our make up policy.
  • A $50 cancellation fee is charged if a student withdraws less than 1 week from the start of classes. Once the class session has started no refunds will be issued.
  • In the case of an extenuating circumstance, please discuss this with us as early as possible and we may be able to hold your classes for a future session.
  • Sessions cannot be transferred to another individual.
  • All sessions are for the specific seven week span of dates that are listed. If you need an extra class to complete work (such as final glazing) you may schedule this for the class drop in rate, which is $35 per drop in class.
  • Students are responsible for throughly cleaning their own stations, so that they are left in the same condition as they were found. All continuous work must be bagged and labeled properly, with the instructor being informed of any special firing information.
  • Students may not take extra clay or in progress works home to work on. The studio time is built into your class time.
  • On occasion, a student may learn that their ceramics piece has "popped or exploded" in the kiln. This occasionally happens due to hidden air bubbles in the clay. We at Studio E try to avoid this from happening at all costs, (and it happens rarely) but this is the reality of being a part of a ceramics studio. Studio E is not responsible for providing extra classes to students who's work has popped. Please understand that this is something that happens to ALL ceramics students at some point in their ceramics careers. We ask that you try your best to maintain a level of non-attachment when it comes to your ceramic work.
  • Studio E reserves the right to terminate classes for any student who is not adhering to our policies.

SELF DIRECTIONStudents receiving self direction must lay out their own money for classes, and get reinbursed by their agency. We will provide letterhead receipts, but you must request this through email at sstylianou50@yahoo.comPlease allow up to one week to receive letterhead receipts after the request has been submitted.
